Installing

The WinSpin app

An app buys you an icon, notifications and marginally faster loading. It costs you an install, a permissions prompt and one more thing to keep updated. Here is how to decide, and how to do it safely if you decide yes.

01

Three ways to have an "app"

  1. Add the site to your home screen

Open the casino in your mobile browser, use the share or menu button, and choose "Add to home screen". You get an icon that opens full-screen with no browser chrome, and you install nothing. For most players this is all "the app" ever needed to mean.

  2. Install from an official store

Where a store listing exists for your country, this is the safest install route: updates are automatic and the package is signed. Store policies on real-money gambling vary by region, which is why a listing that exists for one country may be missing for another.

  3. Install a package directly (Android)

Some brands offer a downloadable package instead. Only ever take one from the casino's own account area, never from a search result or a forum link, and expect your phone to warn you about installing from an unknown source — that warning exists for good reason.

Casino apps distributed outside official stores are a favourite disguise for malware. If you cannot get the file from inside your own logged-in account, use the browser version instead.

02

Permissions, and what they are for

PermissionLegitimate useSafe to decline?
NotificationsAccount and payout alertsYes — you lose marketing pushes too, which is a feature
CameraPhotographing ID for verificationYes, until you need to verify
Storage / filesUploading documents from the galleryYes, if you use the camera instead
LocationRegulatory geolocation in some marketsSometimes mandatory — declining may block play
ContactsNo legitimate casino useAlways decline

Grant the minimum, and grant it at the moment it is actually needed rather than during install. Modern phones let you set permissions to "only while using the app", which is the right setting for everything on that list except notifications.

03

Is an app worth it at all?

Honestly, for most people, no — and it is worth saying so on a page about apps. The browser version is the same account, the same games and the same terms, with nothing to install, nothing to update and no permissions dialogue. Adding the site to your home screen gets you the icon, which is the part people actually wanted.

An app earns its place in two cases. If you play often enough that a second of load time matters to you, a native build usually caches assets better. And if you want account notifications — payout completed, verification approved — pushes are more reliable than email. Everything else on the feature list is marketing surface. Weigh that against the reality that an app keeps you signed in permanently on a device you carry everywhere, which is convenient right up until it is not.

04

Living with it

Updates

Store installs update themselves. A directly-installed package does not, and an out-of-date casino app is the version most likely to break at the cashier. If you went the direct route, check for a new build every few weeks.

Storage

Casino apps cache game assets aggressively and can grow to hundreds of megabytes. Clearing the cache is harmless — it re-downloads what it needs — and it is the first fix for a lobby that has started loading strangely.

Signing out

Apps stay signed in by design. If your phone is ever shared or lost, that convenience becomes a problem: use a device lock, and sign out manually if anyone else uses the handset.

Removing it

Uninstalling does not close your account or cancel a bonus. If you want to stop playing rather than stop using the app, use the account's own limit and self-exclusion tools — see responsible gambling.

Is the app version different from the website?

Functionally it is the same account and the same games. Layout and navigation differ slightly; odds, terms and balances do not.

Can I claim the free spins in the app?

Yes — the partner offer (30 FS NDB, 45x) is attached to the account, not the platform. Terms on the free spins page.

No app for my country — what now?

Use the mobile browser and add it to your home screen. You lose nothing that affects play; the mobile page covers the details.

18+ only. Install only from official stores or your own logged-in account area.
